CHATTANOOGA, TN – The Tennessee Amateur Radio Association (TARA) is proud to announce the formation of a new Volunteer Examiner (VE) testing team, led by the dedicated and experienced Will Crowden, W4ETA. This new Tennessee Amateur Radio Association VE Team is set to significantly enhance TARA's initiative to grow the amateur radio community across the Volunteer State.

The establishment of this VE team under the leadership of Mr. Crowden, who also serves as TARA's Assistant State Director, marks a significant step forward in the association's mission to make amateur radio more accessible to Tennesseans. The TARA VE Team will offer regular and flexible opportunities for individuals to earn their amateur radio licenses, a crucial entry point into the hobby and a vital service to the community.

"Our goal at TARA is to leave amateur radio better than we found it, and a huge part of that is fostering new growth," said State Director Amoriello. "By establishing a dedicated and well-organized VE testing team, we are removing one of the most significant barriers for those interested in joining this fantastic hobby. With W4ETA-Will at the helm, we are confident in our ability to provide a professional and welcoming testing environment."

The new VE team is a cornerstone of TARA's broader strategy to enrich the amateur radio landscape in Tennessee. By increasing the availability of testing sessions, both in-person and through remote online proctoring, TARA aims to cultivate a new generation of operators. These new hams will be essential in carrying forward the traditions of public service, emergency preparedness, and technological innovation that are at the heart of amateur radio.

This initiative directly supports TARA's ongoing efforts, which include providing educational resources, sponsoring licensing, and supporting local amateur radio clubs throughout the state. The formation of the TARA VE Team is a testament to TARA's commitment to creating a vibrant and expanding amateur radio community in Tennessee.

Individuals interested in obtaining their amateur radio license are encouraged to visit the Tennessee Amateur Radio Association's website for more information on upcoming VE testing sessions.
